I was born in California but raised in two different countries growing up, the United States and Mexico. So, I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I have been married for 21 years and have 3 wonderful children. I began working out in 2003, after having my first child. At that time, I was 21 years old and had no idea how to start, I just wanted to be active. But in 2009, I had my very first panic attack. I didn’t have any idea what that was like until it happened to me, and it was a horrible feeling. For that reason, I started to dive more seriously into exercise, hoping that it would help reduce my anxiety. I have always enjoyed exercising and knew it is good for my body, but it took my first panic attack for me to see how much it helped my mental health, too!
Exercising has transformed my life in so many positive ways, all I want to do now is share what I've learned along the way. I am now a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM and am excited to be part of Dogs and Dumbbells!
